I've had busier weeks and a crazier schedule, but for whatever reason, I feel frazzled today.
I’m thinking of everything I need to accomplish (including this post) in the next 24 hours. Yet, I find myself scrolling on Amazon to find a soft desk pad to help with my occasional arm pain while typing, which leads to looking for a new mouse for my husband and then checking Facebook. After all, I wouldn’t want to miss a birthday. The clothes in the dryer have been on wrinkle-release three times now. My phone locks up, and I restart it. It’s 10:30, and I have just finished my bowl of cereal for breakfast.
I excel at distracting myself.
My Fitbit shows I’ve walked around this house for more than a mile and have very little to show for it.
Have you had mornings like this? You want to get so much accomplished, but you find yourself doing everything but what you set out to do.
Stop.
Breathe.
Take another deep breath.
It’ll all get done. It always does.
Let’s take a few moments to enjoy some beautiful pictures and relax.
I don't want to research where this photo was taken (St. Louis, maybe?) Just enjoy
A cormorant drying off at Myakka State Park, Florida
My favorite beach
Deer in the Woods at Glendalough, Dublin, Ireland
Fish and a Hippo at Disney World
View behind a cruise ship
On a sailboat in Cabo San Lucas
A butterfly I met yesterday
My son’s photography, driving home at the end of another beautiful day (no matter what got accomplished)
One of my Dad’s favorite songs that keeps coming to mind today:
Wonderful World (click for link to music)
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright, blessed day
The dark, sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
I love you
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Then I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes
Kauai, Hawaii, from the air
Now I’m relaxed. I hope these photos helped make your day a little calmer, too.
I’m heading back to finish the laundry.
Thanks for reading.
Keep smiling and breathing! :)
It will all get done. And if it doesn’t, tomorrow is another day.
xx
This is great. There was a day back in Colorado when my partner put me in our car and drove me around to every man-made watering hole and reservoir he could find just so I could rest my eyes on water. Your photos helped me rest differently. Thank you!
Pam, another wonderful article that I can relate too. Reading your article calmed me down. I'm at my sister's house till Tues. She's been spoiling. The weather's been so beautiful. I wish you were here with us. Maybe next time we plan to meet you guys here in CT. Miss you. Keep writing❤️
